New Music report for wk of 11.10 - Of Montreal, Sebastien Grainger, Tom Jones, more
The music companies will be slowing down the amount of new music they release as we get closer to December but there remains a plethora of kewl nu sounds and we are playing as much as can 24/7.
The new Of Montreal (like their ninth disc or some crazy shit) is here and we are jamming on a couple of tracks from it along with the new Sebastien Grainger. Sebastien setting out solo marks the second member (Jesse F Keeler was the first with MSTRKRFT) to do so since the break up of Death From Above 1979, a band I never really understood but am totally liking his direction here.
Some new singles of note include one from Nick Harrison, a fun one that is built on the old Specials song Ghost Town, hence its title, Something Specials. We can't deny enjoying Tom Jones new disc and are playing the single Style And Rhythm. Oh, and we have added even more to the shelf where we keep our extensive rare and remixed Radiohead - a cover of Rhinestone Cowboy. Since we are playing songs off the new Glen Campbell which is all covers, we figured it was a good turn.
All the more reason to Be Indie!
