New Music Poureth In...Decemberists and more wk of 10.27.08
Nothing we crave more than new music here at IndieSF, especially when its from one of our faves. We will wait at the mailbox for it sometimes. Well, this week we have the new Decemberists single series 'Always The Bridesmaid'. The band is releasing 3 volumes of new songs and, as luck would have it, we were able to procure all 3 volumes at once rather than wait. You won't have to wait—we have several songs in rotation already.
Also listen for the fun new single from The BPA or Brighton Port Authority which is actually Fatboy Slims new alias. The song is called "Toe Jam" and features David Byrne on vocals with a ripping rap midsection from Dizzee Rascal. We played another single from The BPA over the summer that featured Iggy Pop on vocals and understand there will be a full BPA disc out in 09 (4 songs out and available digitally at the BPA website). Oh, and a crazee video accompanies this new BPA song.
Also in single land, a throbbing new 12" from Bassnectar called "Heads Up" - this one was definitely made to shake the subs. Along with singles, we now have full cd's from IndieSF staples like Bloc Party, Ryan Adams, Snow Patrol, Keane, Oasis, and Theivery Corporation so be listening for deep cuts from all of them. Some of our other faves? Frightened Rabbit and Passenger still floating our boat.
Check em out and, till next weeks update, stay Indie!
